Site preparation lasted for a year in 2017, with an area totalling 20 ha. Subsurface utility engineering is currently underway. Whereas the next stage featuring laying foundation and fixing metal structures is scheduled for summer.

“All works are performed on schedule. A total of 140 people is involved in the construction at the moment, with at least 100 people to join them in a week, owing to the construction expansion. More than 3 thousand people will work on site at the pike period”, – said Vladimir Daut, Director, Metafrax.

Overall project investment is estimated at 950m EUR. Loan agreements on gearing 280m EUR and 27bn RUB are expected to be signed in the days ahead. Project payback period is estimated at 13 years. Gubakha is the site selected for capacities location. Facility commissioning is scheduled for 2021.

The designed capacities for 8-thousand-hour operation per annum will amount to 562k t of urea, 298k t of ammonia, and 40k t of melamine annually. Ammonia production will be based on natural-gas-free technology, with methanol blowout gas used instead. This will ensure reduced emissions and higher energy efficiency.
